Internet goes berzerk over American Eagle “jeans/genes” ad…

The flailing American Eagle clothing company is under extreme fire after publishing a racy—pun intended—ad in which pouty lipped actress Sydney Sweeney spins around and rolls on the floor in massively-oversized jeans in pseudo porn clip angles and suggestive poses while the monotone narrator drones “Sydney Sweeney has good jeans.”

American Eagle claims they didn’t mean to suggest that blonde, blue eyed, sex figures were racially superior in any way, and that they didn’t mean any harm. Of course, as usual, it’s the “we are so very sorry if we have offended anyone” trope in defense of themselves.

As usual with these things, the left culture sees it as an attack on people of color, the right culture sees the left backlash as an attack on white people.

Wonder what the reaction would have been if the model had instead been Beyoncé. No doubt there would have been no outrage; in fact, American Eagle would have been deemed very clever and even artistic for their play on words. They may have even won awards. But nope.

I find it hard to believe that American Eagle didn’t consider the possibility of extreme backlash before giving the greenlight to the project. I tend to think they knew it would be highly controversial and that’s the reason they did it. They may have also thought that due to Trump anti DEI culture that the tide was turning against racial stereotypes, thus they would get more praise than hate. They may have thought wrong.

At any rate, the story is relevant is because the response will determine where the culture is with racial sensitivity intolerance for what no doubt, at a minimum, can be considered racy humor.

  • Trump suddenly acknowledges Gaza starvation, threatens Israel…

Over six months into his presidency, supposedly compelled by photos (no doubt captured by the same “legacy media” he has dubbed “the enemy of the people”), Trump has declared the starvation in Gaza is not “fake news,“ and therefore must be acted on immediately.

In fact, he is allegedly so appalled by the media photos he has seen that he has ordered feeding “enclaves” in Gaza and even threatened to recognize Palestine as a state if Israel doesn’t act to end the crisis.

This is nothing short of a stunning turnaround given Trump’s past 180 days of favorable statements towards Israel, chummy meetings with Netanyahu (one in which he gushed as Bibi presented him with a nomination for a Nobel peace prize, even as Israel was gunning down Palestinians who were standing in line for food), and complete silence regarding the mind boggling destruction and suffering in Gaza.

It was only a few months ago that Trump was day dreaming about turning Gaza into a Trump resort in an AI generated video posted to the official White House page that depicted him as the gilded ruler of the disputed territory, drinking with a shirtless Bibi on the beach, as money rained down from the sky over his pal (at the time) Musk.

AI video posted to the official White House page

There was no mention of the destruction and suffering at the time. In fact, Trump was saying that all of the Palestinian people would be moved to nearby states where they would enjoy prosperity and a wonderful new life. What changed? No telling, but chances are, the change didn’t start with a few appalling photos from the mainstream media.

It’s highly probable Trump is frustrated that Netanyahu refuses to honor Trump‘s cease-fire “deals,” which is jeopardizing Trump’s chances for his coveted Nobel Peace Prize, so he is using the starvation situation to shame Bibi into capitulation.

  • Shock report: Authorities will “honor” terrorist’s request to study his brain…

I remember a time when if you wanted to get people’s attention, you said something really controversial. But with the advent of social media and the normalization of controversial, the attention seekers have been forced l to turn to more eextreme methods for getting people to listen to them, and increasingly that method is murder.

Case in point. A terrorist just walked into a building, shot a bunch of people, shot himself, left behind a note requesting his brain be studied for CTE, and authorities have now shockingly agreed to “honor” his request.

Evidently murder is now an honorable way to make your grievance go viral.

It worked with Luigi Mangione and now it’s working for Shane Tamura. Evidently, if you attach some sort of grievance to your depraved act, it will be considered legitimate, and you may even become a hero and a martyr. No need to think, influence people through persuasive argument and evidence, or God forbid, hard work; just lock and load and boom, instant headline notoriety. I will file this under #InsaneTimes.

  • NYC terrorist claims CTE, requests brain study…

The guy who terrorized New York City by invading a building, shooting unarmed people, and then proceeding to kill more unarmed people in an upstairs Blackstone corporate office said in a suicide note that he has CTE (head injury from football) and requested his brain be studied. Cue the sympathizers.

Thoughts: What a wild world where the terrorists play the victim card, the masses sympathize with him, and the actual victims of his heinous crimes are mostly ignored (and often blamed).

As for CTE, I’m old enough to remember when guys who chose to participate in activities and careers that are known for knocking their brains around were not murderous terrorists. But I’m old-school.

Update: NYPD is sending an entire team of people to Nevada to try to figure out the motive of the latest young male to grab a firearm and start shooting people in broad daylight in New York. I can save them a ton of time, money, and resources: they are pissed off and taking their aggressions out on whomever they are angry at on any given day. Now get back to work in New York where they need you the most, where angry dudes are walking down the street with rifles, completely unnoticed because no one is paying attention to them, including the police. There, I just saved you $500,000.

Update: oh by the way, Blackstone is a private equity firm mostly for the pensioners who are no longer contributing anything to the economy, other than the occasional new car or rec vehicle purchase every three years, and the ultrarich. They buy vast swaths of residential homes to turn them into unaffordable rentals to enrich their clients.

  • “He owes me big time,” Trump softens on Obama…

After previously stating that Obama had committed treason and referring him to the DOJ for prosecution, Trump does a 180 and implies Obama will not be held accountable for his alleged crimes. Instead, says Potus, “Obama owes me big-time.”

It must be tough for those who cling to every word of the president when his words, thoughts, and plans, change more than the weather from hour to hour 🤪

  • Caught on video: Sneaky caddy cheats for Trump at new golf course…

If you’re going to cheat on the golf course, you should probably take a quick look around first—you know, to make sure you’re not under surveillance? Don’t they teach that in Thief School 101? Amateurs 🙄

  • Bongino: “You will get the truth”

Bongino penned a very personal tweet on X in which he claims he has “seen things that have forever changed him,” and that the people will get not his truth, or your truth, but THE truth, We say “Hmmm.. WHAT IS TRUTH, DAN?” Truth according to whom? The Trump Party? The mob? God? Do tell.”

Thoughts: Concerning to me is the amount of faith and trust he expects people to put into him, as if he has an infallibly perfect track record, and the people can trust he would never be partial. That’s hard to believe considering his undying loyalty to Trump in his previous life as a blogger.
